1954 – Quarter-Final: Switzerland reached the Quarter-Finals with having played 4 matches in total. But the 2006 World Cup deserves to be mentioned here. In that tournament Switzerland got eliminated in the Round of 16 without without having lost any match. The penalty shootout had to decide the winner in the Round of 16 match.

1966 – Group stage: Although Switzerland lost all group matches, only 1 goal was scored which was against Spain. 9 goals in total were scored against Switzerland in the group stage.
