Portugal is the 29th country to have qualified for the World Cup Brazil on the 19th of November 2013. Portugal was 1 of the 8 UEFA countries to play the continental play-offs. Their opponent was Sweden which played in 11 World Cups. This was the continental play-off everyone was talking about. 2 favourites and 2 star players Cristiano Ronaldo against Zlatan Ibrahimović. Only 1 of them will play in the 2014 World Cup. It ended up being Cristiano Ronaldo. In the World Cup 2014 Portugal national team’s first match it was he who scored the only goal of the match: 1-0.
