France is the 30th country to have qualified for the World Cup Brazil on the 19th of November 2013. France was 1 of the 8 UEFA countries to play the continental play-offs. Their opponent was Ukraine which played in a World Cup once in 2006.Their first match ended in a surprising 2-0 for Ukraine. The World Cup 2014 France national team had to make some serious chances in order to qualify anyway for the 2014 World Cup. Somehow they did it! In their 2nd match France defeated Ukraine with 3-0 which were scored by Mamadou Sakho and Karim Benzema. An impressive comeback it was, resulting in an aggregate score of 2-3! France prevented themselves from missing a World Cup which happened for the last time in 1994.
